Here are the best things to do in Mornington Peninsula! We’ve covered everything you should check off your list when visiting Mornington - from the best wineries, hot springs, walks, and more…
1. Arthurs Seat Eagle Gondola
Just less than an hour from Melbourne, you could be gliding through the sky in a gondola at Arthurs Seat Eagle, where you can take in uninterrupted views - frames by swaying Manna Gums, grazing kangas and the trace of distant coastlines!
Named in honour of the Wedge-tailed Eagle, the experience is one of flight through an area steeped in history and surrounded by nature. Glide above and past the trees inside comfortable, all weather, fully accessible cabins. Once you get to the summit, you can roam around an expansive outdoor deck and perhaps even bring back a fun souvenir!
2. Montalto Winery Experience
When in Mornington, you should definitely not miss out on one of the best wineries in the region producing world-class cool-climate wines - Montalto Winery. Montalto is a family-run estate where they grow their produce - over 1,500 olive trees supply the kitchens.
Set in the breathtaking Alto wine room, with panoramic views overlooking the Estate vineyards, you’ll get to pick between a Discovery Tasting or an Estate to Plate experience to taste the best Mornington Peninsula wine. The Discovery Tasting includes a wine tasting, shared lunch and a glass of wine, whereas the Estate to Plate experience gives you a VIP experience with a guided estate tour, tasting as well as a 5-course lunch with matching wines - talk about the good life!
After that, you can also opt to check out the 30 beautiful contemporary sculptures throughout the Montalto grounds, from monumental works in open spaces to more intimate pieces begging to be discovered amongst the wetlands and vines.
3. Inflatable Fun Park
While it’s still warm, one of the best things to do in Mornington Peninsula is to hit up Mornington’s hottest summer attraction - featuring the region's largest inflatable pool, an inflatable sports zone and more. Fun’s definitely guaranteed when you jump into a giant blow-up pool that’s 19 metres in diameter, a water slide, and wet-and-wild obstacle course!
Other activities like trampolines, sumo suits for wrestling, paddle boats, mini golf and a silent disco will keep you and your crew busy for the day. Purchasing a session pass will allow you to enjoy all of the fun zones and access all facilities such as showers, bathrooms, and air-conditioned facilities with WiFi.
4. Scenic and Wildlife Adventure Cruise in Port Phillip Bay
Discover the scenic landscapes of Port Phillip Bay and Southern Mornington Peninsula on a fun sightseeing cruise - you’ll get to head to the famed entry point, “The Rip”, and marvel at the meeting point of the Bass Strait and Port Phillip Bay. Enjoy a close look at Australian fur seals lounge around at the Chinaman's Hat platform.
Keep your eyes peeled as you just may spot humpback whales, common dolphins, migrating seasonal wildlife and more!
